Subject Descriptiona
The general aim of the course is to provide sufficient knowledge and understanding of basic principles in building construction. The course covers the element of brick and block walls, arches and openings, doors, windows, staircase, roof structures and finishes and ceiling, with emphasis on the technology and installation of the element.

Objectives
1.     Distinguish the various types of bricks and block; their bonding, pointing and uses in relation to building.
2.     Identify the types of door, windows and staircase, its functional requirement and suitability of use.
3.     Utilize of method statement for the process of constructing the roof and ceiling.
